2. Adhān (Call to Prayer)

3. Khutbah Al-Haajah (Sermon of Necessity)

Man yahdihi Allah fala mudhilla lah, wa man yudlil fala hadiya lah.

"Indeed, all praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, seek His help, and ask His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of ourselves and from the bad deeds of our actions. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can misguide; and whomsoever He leaves astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone without any partners, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger."

This verse emphasizes the importance of fearing Allah and remaining steadfast in faith until death.
Ya ayyuhal-ladhina amanu ittaqu Allah haqqa tuqatihi wa la tamutunna illa wa antum Muslimoon "O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him]." [Quran 3:102]

This verse reminds humanity of their common origin and the importance of maintaining family ties.
Ya ayyuhan-nasu ittaqu rabbakum allathee khalaqakum min nafsin wahidah wa khalaqa minha zawjaha wa baththa minhuma rijalan katheeran wa nisaa’an, wattaqu Allah allathee tasa'aluna bihi wal-arhaam, inna Allaha kana 'alaykum raqeeba "O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed, Allah is ever, over you, an Observer." [Quran 4:1]

This verse highlights the importance of speaking justly and the rewards of obedience to Allah and His Messenger.
Ya ayyuhal-ladhina amanu ittaqu Allah wa qulu qawlan sadeedan yuslih lakum a'malakum wa yaghfir lakum dhunubakum, wa man yuti'illaha wa rasulahu faqad faza fawzan 'aziman "O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. He will amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment." [Quran 33:70-71]

Amma ba’du, fa inna asdaqal hadithi Kitabullah, wa khayral-hadyi hadyu Muhammadin, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, wa sharra-l-umuri muhdathatuha, wa kulla muhdathatin bid’ah, wa kulla bid’atin dalalah, wa kulla dalalatin finnaari.

"To proceed: the best of speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ﷺ. The worst of affairs are newly invented matters, and every innovation is a misguidance, and every misguidance leads to the Fire."

4. Conclusion of the First Khutbah

Aqoolu qawli hadha wa astaghfirullah li wa lakum fa astaghfiruhu innahu huwal-ghafooru-raheem.

"I say this statement of mine, and I seek forgiveness from Allah for myself and for you; so seek His forgiveness. Indeed, He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful."

[Brief pause as the Khatib sits]

5. Start of the Second Khutbah

Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem. Alhamdulillahi rabbil ‘alameen, wassalatu wassalamu ‘ala rasulillah, wa ‘ala alihi wa sahbihi ajma'een.

"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and all his companions."

6. Sending Blessings Upon the Prophet ﷺ

"Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and salute him with all respect." [Quran 33:56]

7. Peace upon the Prophet ﷺ

"O Allah, send your blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious."

8. Supplication at the End

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina ‘adhab an-nar

"Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." [Quran 2:201]

9. Command to Establish the Prayer

Wa aqim as-salah

"And establish the prayer."
